There are two parts to the Summer Reading Lists. KG to 2nd Graders can read as many of the books they want on the list, and others of course! Incoming 3rd through 5th Graders must read the REQUIRED book(s) plus at least one of the books from the CHOICE list. The Required books were selected for their content, theme, and relevance... either to the curriculum, to our students in particular, or general life lessons. The CHOICE list is just that, a guide to choosing books on the students level and interest. Feel free to send an email if you think of a book that you would like to see on the list.
If you have a library card (and you should), you can request a pin number, search, request and have these and other books held for you at no charge. You then walk into the library with your card and be on your merry way! Visit the library on-line at www.mdpls.org
